SPOTLIGHT ON: TECHNOMADS

Technomads is the DJ-duo formed by our good mates, Rishi Sippy and Aashish Gupta. Based in Bangalore (India), the two individual artists, with 5 years of age setting them apart, have varied musical tastes and preferences and joined forces upon realizing that Techno, and the like, is what they could share and take to their audience.

They have been partners in crime since they first played a combined set at The Big Mushroom Cloud festival in Bangalore 2010 and have rocked dance floors all across the city ever since. Having entertained dance music fans with their high energy, no nonsense sets at clubs such as Pebble, Amnesia, Sutra, BlueWaves, the Love Shack and O-Bar just to name a few, the duo is currently working on producing their own music along with other upcoming artists in the city.

They have also played warm-up sets for international artists such as Umek, Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, Daniel Kandi, Kindzadza and Ma Faiza.

Coming from the Republic of Belarus, (landlocked country in Eastern Europe, bordered clockwise by the coldest landscapes from Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest), Vlad Dautin known as Light Breath, is professional musican and Dj with a great future. In the last 2 years having being in the music scene, Light Breath has released a wide list of massive tracks on different record labels around the world, including imprints from Brazil, Spain, USA and Germany. In the near time Light Breath will be working on his album for release around Spring break 2013, besides there will be a weight of other releases. Actually he cooperates with different artists, playing live-sets and dj-sets at the well known clubs and events in the finest Belarus electronic music scene.

Groj grew up in Sydney, Australia and the capital of the French Alps, Grenoble. He currently resides in Montreal, his birthplace, where he studied Psychology and Electro- Acoustics. His music connects graceful gestures with organic imagery and a rumbling minimalist cadence. The last 18 months have been witness to a revolution in the deeper side of electronic dance music. With the deeper areas of house, techno and minimal gaining a stronger foothold on dance music than ever before, talented artists within these genres are finally getting the credit and acclaim they deserve, none more-so than Pawas Gupta.

Born and raised to a classical musician in India, early on, Pawas seemed destined for a career in music. Having started out playing the tabla (Indian drums) alongside his father in concerts, Pawas musical prowess was evident for the connoisseurs of music. Soon enough he spread his wings and evolved in his domain, in teaching himself to play numerous other instruments including percussion, bass guitar and keyboards.

Egyptian DJ & Producer, Omar Fayyad is certainly creating a scene for him self in the electronic music World. Omar always wanted to do more than just be a listener, and become more of a contributor. At the age of 16, Omar developed the skills of mixing music and the skills of developing great tracklists, particularly influenced by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed and Sasha, who taught him the essence of leading a crowd from the booth.

At the beginning, Omar started spinning progressive house, but it wasn’t long until he realized he was more into the deep side of electronic music. So as result, he distinguished himself by moving between deep house, deep tech, and melodic techno.
Omar also mixes minimal, down-tempo and ambient music.

However, it didn’t stop there. Omar wanted to take it to another level, and produce his own music. It took him nearly a year of very hard work to master his production skills, influenced by big producers such as , Henry Saiz, Robert Babicz, Max Cooper, Guy J and many others. Omar has signed his first EP entitled “Distance is a Killer” with Underground Noise Records in 2010, which is a start of a bright future for Omar in the music career.

Omar says:
“Djing is not just putting a tracklist together and mixing them..you take the audience on a journey through your set. It’s up to you as a DJ to make it a pleasant trip or a bad one…As for production, the perfect track for me is one that is deep, melancholic, associated with melodies and good percs..some ambiance here and there would spice it up.”

Suli Yosi is the project of the Producer Tasos Pletsas.

Tasos Pletsas, was born and raised in Kyparissia – Greece.
The last seven years he lives in Athens – Greece and is dedicated
to music and technology. He can be described as an ingenious
mind and that because he is always involved in tasks like Music
Production, Web Designing & Developing, Video & Digital Editing
and more.

Tasos is the founder of Erratica Music. He founded Erratica Music 3 years ago, as an alternative way to express his music thoughts while other Greek labels were sitting back instead of evolving and Innovating.

Nowdays Tasos produces Tech & Progressive House, Techno and Psytrance Music tracks. He has released Full On Psytrance Music tracks under Erratica Music and Trance Lab Records (Argentina) and now he is in the studio for his new ‘fresh’ Tech House productions.

This busy mind is always in a ‘Production State’, producing more and more fresh new material, music tracks, remixes, websites, artwork and more, so stay tuned.
