‘Toolroom Goes Deep’ returns for its third outing, showcasing the deeper side of Toolroom Records though an impressive array of Toolroom favourites and previously unreleased exclusives.
‘Toolroom Records Goes Deep’ is crammed full of the biggest Deep House from established and emerging artists. Ranging from deep and melodic with tracks from Hot Since 82 and Hackman to garage-inspired cuts from Vanilla Ace, Prince Club and Bordertown, to techy rollers from Supernova, Doomwork and Tapesh. With an impressive array of exclusives to be discovered, including Eelke Kleijn’s ‘Onderhuids’, Honey Dijon & Jerome Robins’ ‘Wanting’ and Deep City Groove’s ‘Don’t Want Don’t Need’, alongside tried and trusted Toolroom favourites like Dusky’s remix of Cloud 9’s ‘Do You Want Me Baby’, Mark Knight’s remix of Submotion Orchestra’s ‘Thinking’ and Robosonic’s rework of Johnny Corporate’s ‘Sunday Shoutin’. The compilation boasts an unparalleled selection of upfront, unreleased and unmatched tracks.
With a massive 40 tracks in total and three full-length DJ mixes, ‘Toolroom Goes Deep 3’ takes you on a journey through the different sounds and styles of Deep House.
Nayan Soukie and Fritz Windish are an intercity duo based in Berlin and Hamburg. They are deeply rooted in the north of Germany with strong ties to some of the best venues like Fusion Festival and Bachstelzen. In a short period of time the two have established their own sound, which surprises with a variety of styles between deep house productions on URSL and 200 Records or more functional tracks with a pop attitude on labels like “Time has Changed” and “Liebe Detail”. But you always have the signature of driving deepness, which works like a carpet under the feet and the long and psychedelic breaks make you shiver on the floor. Soukie & Windish are a sure shot for mature and dirty dancefloor, but they also like to play on virgin grounds in the beginning of the night.
James Zabiela’s debut release on his long-awaited label is announced. ‘The Healing’ is released on December 10th with the strongest of remix packages. The legendary and much loved Hot Chip lead the way with Midland, Gang Colours and Club Root in addition. James also contributes his own ‘85’ re-edit.
The original is a beautiful and expansive piece of music with vocals from James.
The Gang Colours remix will be given away as an exclusive download, easily the dreamiest of remixes on this package Gang Colours delivers a cinematic take on the track. Hot Chip made their mix almost entirely live; with signature HC drive it still retains a strong nod to James’ original. Midland recorded his onto cassette tape for added warmth and crackles on the line; and for those not yet turned onto Club Root this atmospheric mix carries far further than his so called ‘bass’ routes…
Boston beat boi Tanner Ross is finally back, with another embodiment of his signature take on future EFUNK. Ranging from creamy nostalgic R&B featuring PillowTalk, Slow Hands and Jesse Rennix to tripped out weirdness in collaboration with Lonely C and 80s synthesis romance with Jules Born, the‘Straight To The Moon EP’ on Double Standard will take you from palm-fringed Miami sands to deep outer space.
Across five originals (Side A and B on pure white 10”) and two instrumentals, Tanner Ross once again casts his sonic spell with a master class in originality with support from select members of the Wolf + Lamb collective, having already made his artistic footprint on labels W+L and No.19.
